Horse Exchange programs? Or Equine working holiday? How to find?
I don’t know the exact term for it so I will blunder along and hope someone knows what I’m talking about!
Equestrian working holidays or maybe an equestrian exchange program?
Basically, I’d love to go to Germany (other european countries are good too, but Germany is my first choice) and be a working student at a barn – preferably reining, but english is good to.
I have tried researching this on the net and had minimal luck…any ideas of terms I could try searching google? Or know of any good websites?
Or anybody ever done something like this before?
How do I get the horse the horse I ride to respect me while riding?
I just started riding a new horse. Yest. I took him to the outdoor arena. I began trying to lunge him on his lead a little because he was excited. I had to stop, because his halter was getting loose. He was better, so I rode him. He was good at the beginning, so I encouraged him. Probably 10minutes later, he started tossing his head, and sidestepping. I tried getting his attention and asked him to go forward. But he would back up and groan. He then trotted to the gate, and when I tried to make him turn, he’d groan and start jumping on the spot. I stayed on, and got him to turn around but then he just went back to the gate, and starting acting up. I think he started doing this because he heard other horses neighing. It was around supper time so maybe he was hungry. I got off, and tried lungeing him again, but he just stood and faced me with his head up. I think this is a respect issue, so what can I do? also what are the proper techniques for lungeing? Do you need a lunging whip?
I thought you were supposed to stand square, and look directly at them?
How much does it cost to run a local horse back riding lesson business?
Me and some of my family are possibly looking to start horse back riding lessons on our private farm, and were wondering how much it would cost to legally have the “business”.
My Horse is Limping, What do i do if today is sunday, and tomorrow is a holiday?
Romeo is suddenly limping and i checked for signs of injury but i couldn’t find anything. He stands on it but he rests it when he’s standing. I know I have to call the vet, but tommorow is a holiday (Labor Day) and their not going to be open. My question is, what do I do?

i really want to go on a riding holiday.
i have been riding for a few years and i am a confident with horses. me and my friends were planning to go on one this easter.
we want to go to cullinghood, it is around 50 minutes away. the place looks nice, and i really want to go there
it would cost £250 and i am planning to sell my old stuff in a car boot sale to raise some money, if i was allowed to go.
so the final questions..
1. how can i convince my mum
2.has anyone been to cullinghood
3. how else could i raise quick money, bearing in mind i am 13
4. any other adivce?
my mum has said maybe and i want to make her 100% certain!
we are going 2 talk next weekend.
