One time I rode a horse and it wouldn't go and the girl kept telling me to kick it and I kicked and kicked but it still wouldn't go very fast and I think she was mad and I didn't know if I was kicking it too weakly or what, and I was so embarrassed and distracted so it was the worst horse riding experience ever. I just made reservations at your ranch for this summer so see you then!

I had an excellent book about this, but unfortunately I can't remember the title. Even when I was an experienced rider I often referred back to it. I got the book from a shop selling tack -- equipment for horses. You could ask there.

<a href=""></a>

Well this is how I did it, but I personally wouldn't suggest it. My family is a huge traveling family, and this summer, we wer schedualed to go on a trip down the grand canyon, but a week before we were schedualed to leave, I shattered my arm into a million peices (falling of a potential horse that I was going to lease, didn't work out so well). My entire family left me post surgury, at my grandpa's house for two and a half weeks to raft the canyon. Sad day for me right? Well, actually, when they got back, my dad offered me any trip in the world I wanted, and naturally i chose a horse one. For me, breaking my arm was enough to convince him to give me the vaca, but convincing him to let me back on a horse was the hard part. Anyway, I am totally schedualled to go to spain for this spring break and go on a horse trek across andalusia with my best friend and her mom.

What I would suggest for you, is working really hard to earn the money. Babysitting and part time jobs are always really good. You could also see if you can get a job at the stable where you ride Next i would try and get some people who your mom respects to back you up on it. Maybe figure out some education or cultural aspect to this vacation and get some of your teacher behind it. You could also make it into some community service type project, where you also spend a few extra days wherever you are going, blazing trails or helping poor. Then you could try and apply for a grant from someone for at least the tickets/gas to get there if not the actual vacation. Get your riding instructor to support you as well, have her tell your mom how much you can learn from it. Also do reasearch. Make sure you are getting the best deal for your money. Have the coordinators of the ride email her. I am sure they would be happy to do that in order to secure a prospective client.

Money will most deffinatly be the most difficult part, so I would get started on that now, with any odd jobs you can find. Your stable would be a great place to start looking. Good luck and happy riding!!

You need to check you local phone directory or the internet to find riding schools in your area.

I'm sorry to say that, as far as horses go, cheaper is not always better. Riding schools that are much cheaper than average tend to be badly run and use horses that are not appropriate for learners.

The main thing is to make sure that that the riding school is approved by some society - here in Great britain most riding schools are appovd by The British Horse Society or the Association of British Riding Schools, I don't know what the relevnt associations would be in the USA.
A school that is approved in this way has been inspected and the quality of the teaching has been assessed to be of a good level.

Unfortunately riding lessons can be expensive. You can pay anything from £20 to £45 ($40-$90) for an hour's private lesson and £15 - £30 ($30 - $60) for a group lesson, depending on how well qualified the instructor is.

When I started learning (aged about 12) my parents could not afford to pay for me to have lessons so I got a paper round and earnt the money myself. The money wasn't enough to fund a weekly lesson so I went every other week instead - perhaps this is something you could consider.

<a href="http://www.linxhurricane.com.au">SEO</a>

Hey!

Well, I found this one, it does not have horse back riding I don't think but it has a lot of other fun things. Even though when you first read it, it says the camp is around a week but if you look under sessions it says one day. Here, I'll give you the link!

I found this other nice one, but I don't believe it is just for one day but this one does have horse back riding.http://www.mysummercamps.com/camps/Detailed/Smoky_Mountain_Adventure_Camp_L25671.html

Hope I helped. Have fun! I absolutely love Tennessee!

In my pony club, we pay dues each year when we sign up, some to the national office, some to the regional office, and a little to the club so that they can cover the cost of the lessons we have weekly and the costs of going to rallies. It's the same for every member, somewhere around 100 dollars for the year. Our pony club has annual fundrasiers so that members don't have to pay their entry fees for rallies.
